Here are a few of the most frequently asked questions, if this does not answer your question please send me an email on the Contact Form page.

Is Spray Tanning safe to use in pregnancy?

Fake Bake and SiennaX only come in to contact with the upper most layers of the epidermis (skin) and does not penetrate into the blood stream whatsoever, therefore, yes it is safe to use during pregnancy. However we would also have you take note, that you should always perform the patch test to check for sensitivity as when you are pregnant, your hair and skin may not behave the way it used to and you may find that you are sensitive to products you used when you were not pregnant, and we would recommend women in their first trimester of pregnancy wait before they get their spray tan.

Is Fake Bake/SiennaX suitable for everyone?

The spray tanning products are recommended by dermatologists. However, if you have sensitive skin or questions about using these products, I would recommend that you test the product on a small area of your body. Let is set for a few hours and discontinue use if signs of irritation or rash appears.

How long does my sun tan last?

Your tan will last approximately 5 to 7 days depending on your daily skin regime and lifestyle. A sunless tan fades just like a tan from the sun. As your skin sheds dead skin cells your tan will fade, so the key to a lonegr lasting tan is moisturise, with SiennaX and Fake Bake you can buy additional tan extender creams containing the same DHA, thus maximising the life of your tan.

Do I have to get naked?

*No. It's entirely up to you. If you don't want to get naked , I suggest you wear old dark underwear or a bikini that you don't mind staining, if you want to go topless you can. For men, boxers, swim trunks or shorts.

How dark will I get?

There are different strengths of DHA, and I can advise you of the best one for your skin tone, bearing in mind how dark you want to go. The darker you tan naturally the darker you will tan with a spray tan. Some people like to keep a year-round light golden tan, but if you want a really dark and longer lasting tan, then I would suggest our Double exposure treatment. Simply book a second appointment within 48hrs of your first appointment.

What preparation do I need to do before the tan and what do I wear afterwards?

I provide a small sheet with details of your preparation before your tan, but the most important thing is to EXFOLIATE. Other things on the list - shave/wax at least 24hrs before. Do not wear deodorant on the day of the tan. Do not moisturise before the tan. Bring loose dark clothing for after the tan. Preparation sheets can be collected from Heavenly Nails salon, or I can give you one before your session.

What about streaking and/or turning orange?

Fake tanning has come a long way since the early days. Better solutions, machines and spray tan technology virtually eliminates these issues. I am experienced in producing non streaky tans and will ensure the right solution is chosen for you. Making the choice of colour make you looked naturally sun kissed and you'll get longer lasting results.

Remember with a sunless tan - There's NO risk of sunburn, peeling, sunstroke or sun related diseases.
